Phenotypic variation of local rice in West Java, Indonesia

Abstract Rice is the leading staple food in Indonesia and one of largest production centers West Java Province. Of wide local varieties rice Java, only a few have been inventoried characterized for their morphological characteristics. This study aims to determine Java’s phenotypic diversity plants. Inventory characterization plants was carried out from 2018 2021 seven districts (Sukabumi, Subang, Cianjur, Sumedang, Bogor, Tasikmalaya, Bandung). A total 30 accessions were observed based on Descriptors. Data analysis used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Cluster with Minitab 21. The results showed that main components contributed proportion 83.7%. five groups had degree similarity 30%. characters leaf blade length, ligule color, stem diameter, panicle extrusion, presence awn most diversity.
